Fellow Dads,
After a long and hard fought journey, the first annual March Dadness champion has been crowned: Gomez Addams.
When speaking of his championship to his beloved, Morticia, he is quoted: “Look at her, I would die for her. I would kill for her. Either way, what bliss”
There were many fallen heroes along the way. First and foremost our runner-up: Uncle Phil. He’s a real one who, regardless of his own success and discipline, is willing to get on the level with his family and build them up. It was a close matchup where, in the end, each player had a mutual respect for the game of the other.
Whether it was Bandit, Phil Dunphy, Red Foreman, Hal Wilkerson, Danny Tanner, Dre Johnson or, yes… Frank Reynolds, the one constant of all our competitors is this: they show up.
Some of these TV dads may come off as the “perfect dad”, but here at DAGS we want you to know that perfection is boring. In fact, it does not exist. We hope you enjoy laughing at and with your fellow dads. We hope that you can face fatherhood with the strength and humility it takes to truly nurture a human life. Regardless, if you are concerned about being a decent dad, then you’re already half way there. Bad dads don’t show up and bad dads don’t care.
Three cheers to Gomez Addams. A man who proves that normal is boring and weird can be fun. A man who is not afraid to stitch together his freak flag and let it fly. A father, husband and man who is spontaneous. He can turn the ordinary into the extraordinary and is unconditionally devoted to his family. He rightfully sits as our March Dadness Champion.
Thanks to all those who participated in the tournament. We truly appreciate your support.
Keep it real out there,
Elijah Fenwick-Sanders
